CineStill 800T 35mm Colour Negative Film
CineStill 800T is a distinctive ISO 800 tungsten-balanced colour negative film designed for low-light photography and artificial lighting. Balanced for approximately 3200K tungsten light, it is particularly well suited to night-time city scenes, neon signs, restaurants, concerts, interiors and available-light portraits.
One of CineStill 800T’s most recognisable characteristics is its halation effect, where strong point light sources can develop a red or orange glow around highlights. Combined with its cinematic colour rendering, good detail and high sensitivity, this gives photographs a dramatic look that is especially popular for night and urban photography.
CineStill 800T is designed for standard C-41 colour processing, making it easy to develop through conventional colour film labs.

Questions about this product
Why Choose CineStill 800T?
Choose CineStill 800T when you want a fast colour film with a distinctive cinematic character that is very different from conventional daylight films. Its ISO 800 sensitivity gives you greater freedom to shoot handheld in lower light, while its tungsten colour balance is particularly effective under warm artificial lighting. Street lamps, illuminated shop fronts, restaurants, theatres and neon signs can all produce striking results. Another major reason photographers choose 800T is its characteristic red halation around very bright highlights. Car headlights, neon signs and street lights can produce glowing effects that contribute to the recognisable CineStill aesthetic. It is an excellent choice for photographers who enjoy atmospheric images rather than perfectly neutral, clinical colour reproduction.
Best Use For
Night Street Photography: One of the strongest applications for CineStill 800T. City lights, shop signs and traffic can create dramatic cinematic images. Neon & Urban Photography: Bright signs and coloured lighting work particularly well with its distinctive halation effect. Available-Light Portraits: ISO 800 helps when photographing people indoors or outdoors after sunset without relying heavily on flash. Restaurants & Cafés: Tungsten-balanced film works particularly well with many traditional warm indoor light sources. Concerts & Live Events: The higher sensitivity can help you achieve faster shutter speeds in low available light. Night Travel Photography: Excellent for capturing cities, streets, markets and nightlife after daylight has disappeared. Cinematic Photography: A strong choice when you want photographs with a movie-inspired colour palette and atmospheric highlights. Creative Fashion & Lifestyle: Artificial lights, coloured LEDs and dramatic locations can produce particularly distinctive results.
Shooting Tips for CineStill 800T
Start at ISO 800. Rating the film at its box speed is the simplest starting point and provides good flexibility in low-light conditions. Use it under tungsten lighting. CineStill 800T is balanced around 3200K, so traditional warm artificial lighting can produce more natural colour than daylight-balanced films. Expect cooler colours in daylight. When used outdoors in daylight without filtration, photographs can take on a noticeably cooler or bluer appearance. Use an 85B warming filter for more neutral daylight colour. Remember that filters reduce the amount of light reaching the film, so compensate accordingly. Look for bright point lights. Neon signs, headlights, illuminated windows and street lamps can create the distinctive red-orange halation that makes 800T so recognisable. Avoid severe underexposure. Giving the negative sufficient light generally produces cleaner shadows, better colour and easier scanning. Use a fast lens at night. Lenses with wider apertures such as f/1.4, f/1.8 or f/2 can help you take full advantage of ISO 800 for handheld low-light photography. Keep your camera steady. Even with ISO 800 film, very dark scenes may require slower shutter speeds, so a tripod or stable surface can be useful. Experiment with exposure. CineStill 800T can produce very different looks depending on exposure, lighting and scanning, making it an excellent film for creative experimentation. Process using C-41. Standard professional C-41 processing followed by a good-quality scan will help bring out the film’s distinctive colour and highlight effects.
