Kodak EC35 35mm Film Camera

The Kodak EC35 is a lightweight, reusable 35mm point-and-shoot film camera designed for simple, enjoyable analogue photography. With straightforward controls, manual film advance and rewind, and a built-in flash, it is an excellent choice for beginners, holidays, street photography and everyday snapshots.

The EC35 features a 25mm f/10 wide-angle, fixed-focus lens and a fixed 1/100-second shutter speed, keeping operation deliberately simple. Its distinctive sliding front cover protects the lens and locks the shutter when closed, helping prevent accidental photographs while carrying the camera.

Unlike a disposable camera, the EC35 can be reloaded with another standard 35mm film after each roll, making it a convenient reusable option for anyone wanting an uncomplicated introduction to film photography.

Questions about this product

Why Choose the Kodak EC35?

Choose the Kodak EC35 if you want a simple reusable film camera without autofocus systems, exposure modes or complicated controls. One of its biggest advantages is convenience. Load a roll of 35mm film, manually advance it and start taking photographs. The fixed lens and shutter mean the camera makes analogue photography approachable for people who simply want to frame a scene and press the shutter. The 25mm wide-angle lens is particularly useful for travel, street scenes, groups and everyday photography because it captures a relatively broad view. Its built-in flash also makes the EC35 more versatile when moving from outdoor daylight into indoor or lower-light environments. Because the camera is reusable, you can experiment with different 35mm films rather than being limited to the film supplied inside a disposable camera.

Best Use For

Beginners: An excellent introduction to 35mm photography because there are very few settings to learn. Street Photography: The compact body and wide 25mm lens work well for spontaneous urban scenes. Travel & Holidays: Lightweight enough to carry throughout the day and easy to use while sightseeing. Parties & Social Events: Use the built-in flash for nearby subjects when available light becomes limited. Everyday Photography: Ideal for carrying in a bag and capturing friends, family and everyday moments. Group Photographs: The wide-angle lens makes it easier to fit several people into the frame. Festivals & Days Out: A simple alternative when you do not want to carry expensive camera equipment. Creative Film Photography: Try different colour and black & white 35mm films to explore how each stock changes the appearance of your photographs.

Shooting Tips

Start with ISO 400 film. A general-purpose ISO 400 colour negative film is a practical choice for mixed daylight, shade and flash photography. Use ISO 100 or 200 in bright sunshine. Slower films can work well when most of your photographs will be taken outdoors in strong daylight. Use the flash indoors. With its fixed f/10 aperture and 1/100-second shutter speed, the camera needs additional light in many indoor situations. Stay reasonably close when using flash. Small built-in flashes are most effective on nearby people and objects. Use daylight whenever possible. The EC35 performs best when there is plenty of available light. Remember that focus is fixed. Avoid trying to photograph objects extremely close to the lens. Take advantage of the wide lens. Move physically closer to your subject when you want people to fill more of the frame. Open the sliding cover fully before shooting. Closing it protects the lens and locks the shutter against accidental exposures. Advance the film completely. The camera requires manual film winding between photographs. Rewind before opening the back. At the end of the roll, rewind the film fully into its cassette before opening the camera. Experiment with different films. Kodak Gold 200, UltraMax 400 and compatible black & white films can each give the EC35 a noticeably different look. Keep the lens clean. The simple acrylic lens can be affected by fingerprints and dust, so keep the front surface clean and protected. Remember the flash battery. The built-in flash requires one AA alkaline battery.
