CineStill 800T 120 Colour Negative Film
CineStill 800T is a distinctive ISO 800 tungsten-balanced colour negative film designed for photographers who want excellent low-light performance and a cinematic colour palette. Balanced for approximately 3200K tungsten lighting, it is particularly well suited to artificial light, night-time city scenes, neon signs, interiors, events and available-light portraits.
In 120 format, the larger medium-format negative provides excellent detail and smoother-looking grain while retaining the characteristic CineStill look. Bright point light sources can produce the film’s recognisable red-orange halation, giving night scenes and illuminated subjects a dramatic atmosphere.
Its ISO 800 sensitivity makes it useful when slower films would require very low shutter speeds or additional lighting. CineStill 800T is designed for standard C-41 colour negative processing.

Questions about this product
Why Choose CineStill 800T 120 Film?
Choose CineStill 800T in 120 format when you want the flexibility of a fast colour film combined with the image quality of medium format. Its ISO 800 sensitivity makes handheld photography more practical in darker environments, while the larger 120 negative helps preserve fine detail and smoother tonal transitions. The tungsten balance is one of its most distinctive advantages. Under warm artificial lighting, such as traditional tungsten lamps, illuminated interiors and many night-time environments, 800T can produce more balanced colour than a conventional daylight film. Another major attraction is its characteristic halation effect. Neon signs, street lamps, headlights and other bright point sources can develop a glowing red-orange halo, creating the cinematic appearance for which CineStill 800T is particularly well known.
Shooting Tips for CineStill 800T 120 Film
Start at ISO 800. Box speed is the simplest starting point for predictable low-light results. Use it under tungsten lighting. Its approximately 3200K balance makes it particularly suited to warm artificial light. Expect cooler colours in daylight. When used outdoors in daylight without correction, images may appear noticeably cooler or bluer. Use an 85-series warming filter for more neutral daylight colour. Remember that the filter reduces the amount of light reaching the film, so exposure compensation will be required. Look for bright point lights. Neon, headlights, street lamps and illuminated signs can create the characteristic CineStill halation effect. Avoid severe underexposure. Giving the film sufficient light generally produces cleaner shadows, stronger colour and easier-to-scan negatives. Use fast lenses when possible. Medium-format lenses with wider apertures can help you make full use of ISO 800 in very low light. Keep your camera steady. ISO 800 is fast, but very dark scenes may still require slower shutter speeds and benefit from a tripod. Meter for your main subject. Strong lights in the frame can fool some meters into underexposing people or darker areas. Focus carefully. The larger 120 negative records plenty of detail, so focusing errors can become noticeable at wider apertures. Remember frame count depends on your camera. A 120 roll produces different numbers of photographs depending on whether your camera shoots 6×4.5, 6×6, 6×7, 6×9 or another medium-format size. Scan at high resolution. CineStill 800T in 120 format can produce detailed digital files while preserving its distinctive colour and halation. Process using C-41. CineStill 800T is designed for standard colour negative processing.
